The Billy Goat Cabin at Broadmeadow Farm offers a small cosy space with stunning views and privacy. This is one of our 2 sites with no electricity which for many is extremely appealing and indeed welcomed. It has a log burner for those cosy evenings or wet indoor days and torch lights are provided for the darker evenings.

The Cabin itself is one large room with a double sofa bed downstairs and a king size mattress up the ladder on the mezzanine level.

Alongside the Cabin are 2 small rooms housing 2 single mattresses in each. These have proved to be perfect for teenagers wanting their own sleeping space. Or simply for extra adults to allow up to 8 people in your group.

There is a small woodland area directly next to the Cabin ideal for children to explore. The firepit is great for outdoor cooking – we have a skillet and tripod with frying pans and an outdoor 2 ring gas stove. There is seating directly outside the Cabin or you may choose to picnic out of the sun in the shade of the oak tree.

The cabin is set in the most beautiful Herefordshire countryside within the 100 acres of arable farmland at Broadmeadow Farm. From the firepit you are looking out onto stunning views of Garway Hill, The Skirrd, The Sugar Loaf, Offas Dyke and Hay Bluff.

This accommodation is situated next to a light aircraft runway; in good weather you can watch from the veranda as light aircraft take off from Broadmeadow Flying Club. There is even an annual Summer Fly-In event where light aircraft visit the farm from far and wide and pilots get together to share a BBQ and stories of flying. This is spectacular and well worth watching.

The cabin would be perfectly suited for the following: Couples or friends wanting to relax / rest / visit and explore the beautiful county of Herefordshire or surrounding counties. Walkers and cyclists using the Cabin as a stop over en route. Families wanting to experience off grid life in the simple great outdoors. Pilots wanting to use Broadmeadow Flying Club and would like somewhere ultra convenient and cosy to rest their heads. Anyone visiting friends or family in the area who would like a more private and unique stay than a campsite, hotel or B&B can offer. Musicians and visitors to the 3 Choirs Festival – based every 3 years at Hereford Cathedral. Hay Festival visitors – we are a 15 miles drive from Hay-on-Wye.

2WD accessible – During extreme wet periods 2WD cars are sometimes required to park at the house. We can help with luggage if that’s needed.

Our Billy Goat Cabin now also offers solar electricity!
